Good morning Dr Pranav Raghuram, the associated genetic syndromes are divided into 3 categories. 1)Duplicated fifth digit 2) duplicated first digit 3) rare polydactylies ,second classification is 1) isolated ,if other birth defects are not observed in the same infant, 2) Associated cases ,again divided into combined, if the other defect was a limb defect,, Syndromic, if a non limb defect constituded a recognized casual or pathogenetic entity, and MCA,if a non limb defect did not constitute a recognized entity. Other syndromes associated are Trisomy 13, meckle syndrome and Down syndrome. Down syndrome is strongly associated with first digit duplication & negatively associated with postaxial polydactyly. I think this is more than enough pranav

Dr Urmila, duplicated fifth didit means extra finger at the level of fifth finger or toe, like wise duplicated first digit means extra finger or toe at thumb, or great toe, no tests at all, it all depends on the pt whether pt wants to retain or go for surgical removal.

POLYDECTALELY  IF ASOCIAED WIRH SUNNORMAL SEXUAL DEVOLEP,ENT ADI[POSITY DEFNESS RETINITIS PIGMENTOSA WOULD GO IN THE DX OF L M B SYNDROME OR ASSOCIATED L M B B S
