MCV.. raised in macrocytosis... Raised MCH has little significance... (there is no term as hyperchromia) Increased RDW or red cell distribution width is an index of anisocytosis. More anisocytosis.. mire the RDW. Pleade correlate clinically and with MCHC(a more reliable haematologic index).. and peripheral blood film. Macrocytosis.. may be megaloblastic(vit b12 deficiency.. folate deficiency ).. or nonmegaloblastic(liver disease.. alcoholism.. hypothyroidism... aplastic anaemia... MDS.. and reticulocytosis)Reticulocytes are polychromatic macrocytes on Romanowsky stains.
