Elaborate MACCE also metformin can be given to CKD pts till egfr is 30

Yes - cardio- renal safety is good with metformin- but MACCE ( major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events ) can not be saved or can increase analysis of participants with CKD3-4 from two cardiovascular outcomes trials supports the cardiorenal safety of metformin but does not suggest a consistent benefit on MACE, ACM, or eGFR slope across this population."

Nice conversation of both

I agreed with Dr.M & Dr.C . Metformin.

Thank you@Dr. Dinesh Gupta sir.

WHICH WAY TO DIE ? BY CVS or CVA cause or ESRD ? The choice is YOURS ! The conclusion of the study quoted says, metformin use in CKD has increased the risk of MACCE (Metformin adverse effects on coronary and cerebrovascular events) While reducing mortality due to CKD and progression to ESRD. This study is not going to alter the guidelines of use of Metformin in CkD . Here is the link to the above quoted study. Kim MH, Oh HJ, Kwon SH, Jeon JS, Noh H, Han DC, Kim H, Ryu DR. Metformin use and cardiovascular outcomes in patients with diabetes and chronic kidney disease: a nationwide cohort study. Kidney Res Clin Pract. 2021 Dec;40(4):660-672. doi: 10.23876/j.krcp.20.222.
