Dx :- NTD/Meningomyelocele. Management :- Early refer to Neurosurgeon for surgical intervention after necessary investigations will be beneficial. Before that , washing the area with NS and covering the area with gauge soaked in NS in prone position and to start antibiotics of choices ; may help to prevent CNS infection.......

DX : NTD. MENINGO--MYELOCELE @ THORACOLUMBAR REGION. ANTENATAL SCAN DETECTION ?? IF L.L MOVEMENTS ARE NORMAL & B&B FUNCTIONING IS NORMAL, NOT TO WORRY. WORK UP WITH MRI BRAIN, APART FROM ROUTINE TESTS IS MANDATORY. IMPORTANT IN MANAGEMENT IS TO KEEP THE INFANT IN "PRONE" POSTURE TO AVOID CNS INFECTIONS. FOC IS TO BE MONITORED. ANTIBIOTICS COVER IS MANDATORY TILL SURGICAL INTERVENTION. NEURO--SURGON OPINION @ THE EARLIEST. **FOLIC ACID SUPPLEMENT RIGHT FROM NOW TO THE MOTHER WILL SAVE THE BABY IF PLANING FOR OTHER PREGNANCY. GENETIC COUNSELING TO BOTH PARENTS TOO.

Advice MRI immediately, movements can be normal until pressure effects so MENINGOMYELOCOELE NTD IS answer

NTD/Lumbosacral meningomylocele Referral to neurosurgeon or Pediatric surgeon at earliest

Neural tube defects - myelomeningocele. Cover it and Refer to NEURO SURGEON ASAP.
