Ovarian Carcinoma

A 38 y/o/f complains of bloating & constipation. Ultrasound was done which shows left ovarian masses indicating carcinoma. Pathology report shows a stage IIIb mucinous ovarian LMP tumor Advise the treatment plan.

Advanced stage ovarian carcinoma Yes surgery is an option but we have to r/o metastasis in adjacent area if it is so chemoradiotherapy will be choice

This being an advanced carcinoma of ovary, surgery is un avoidable. But as my dear Dr.Shivrajji has texted, metastasis must be seriously reviewed. Consult Oncosurgion and follow.

Stage 3B is considered an advanced ovarian malignancy Treatment- Surgery -Maximal or optimal cytoreduction Followed by Paclitaxel Plus carboplatin chemotherapy

PETCT to assess spread Laparotomy , total hysterectomy with bil salpingo oophorectomy , peritoneal and mesenteric clearance. Chemotherapy
