Pain Abdomen

A child aged 6 years Chief Complaints Acute onset pain abdomen (peri-umbilical) Multiple episodes of vomitings Non passage of Flatus (x 3 hrs) Physical Examination P/A - Distended, resonant on percussion Investigations Xray Abdomen

Looks like a case of intestinal obstruction. Start with conservative treatment with NPO RT suction IV fluids Parenteral antibiotics. X - ray picture - looks a bit more towards,a volvulus - so if patient do not improve in 12 hours with conservative treatment with no passage of Flatus a Contrast MRI can pin - point the site of obstruction and an Exploratory laparotomy may be required

Gaseous distension of bowel ?intestinal obstruction Keep npo Ryles tube insertion Iv fluids antibiotics and anti spasmodic with ppi , antiemetics Cbc, rft, usg whole abdomen Then manage accordingly

As per your history. Seeing multiple dilated bowel loops here. R/o hypokalemia / septic ileus first . Of course usg will b more conclusive.

Its may be Ddx are Bowel obstruction Evaluate clinically Correlate with proper history Nutritional supplements Do take or refer to surgical gastrointerology doctor Might be helpful👍
