Palatal swelling

Chief Complaint A 61 y/o female with a small swelling over the palate for 1 month. Examination Intraoral examination shows a small soft, raised swelling (1.5*1.5 cm) on the posterior hard palate. Patient is asymptomatic. Diagnosis What is it? Please advise diagnosis

I think you should at least take an occlusal radiograph of maxilla to rule out the very remote (since you mentioned the swelling is soft) possibility of maxillary torus. It seems to be some benign tumor of minor salivary gland, or fibroma. Lipoma can also be a possibility though that would be a very remote case. Did she wear any denture? It'd be most prudent to go for a biopsy.
