Pink gingival swelling in lingual region
A 16 y/o male presented with a large smooth-surfaced pink gingival swelling with focal ulceration interproximal and lingual to teeth 43 & 44. It was asymptomatic but the large size pushed the crown of teeth apart causing a diastema. The large size also interfered with the tongue movement which was annoying to the patient. This lesion is reported to have started 4 months ago and grown fast in the last month. It is grossly measured as 2.5 X 1.4 X 0.8 cm. What is diagnosis and treatment?
Submucal Cyst. A mucocele (mucous cyst) is a benign, common, mucus-containing cystic lesion of the minor salivary glands in the oral cavity. The term mucocele is preferable to mucous cyst since most of these lesions are not true cysts, in the absence of an epithelial lining. Oral mucous cysts that develop on the floor of the mouth are thought to be caused by a blocked salivary gland beneath the tongue. It is unclear exactly what causes a digital mucous cyst to occur. Fluid in finger or toe joints can escape through small holes. This can cause the skin to swell and create a cyst. These small holes may develop as the result of aging.
Differential diagnosis Peripheral odontogenic fibroma pyogenic granuloma, peripheral giant cell lesion, peripheral ossifying fibroma, fibrous hyperplasia, papilloma, Submucous cyst
P/D-Pyogenic granuloma.D/d-fibroma, peripheral giant cell granuloma, peripheral odontogenic fibroma, and peripheral ossifying fibroma.Rx-oral prophylaxis followed by excisional biopsy preferably with laser to prevent excessive bleeding and untoward healing.

Gingival growth looking benign but progressive lately has grown Adv biopsy to r/o adenocarcinoma
Pyogenic granuloma/Adenocarcinoma ask for Excision and BIOPSY
Possibly Pyogenic Granuloma.Advised Bx & IHC.
