Pt has allergy in sulpha drug.which drug can not be given
Sulfamethoxazole / trimethoprim (Bactrim, Sulfatrim), a sulfa combination drug that can be taken in liquid or pill form for many types of infections. Sulfacetamide (BLEPH-10), drops for eye infections. Sulfadiazine silver (Silvadene), a cream to prevent and treat burn infections.
Sulfa allergy Avoid drugs like- Antibiotics combination like erythromycin - sulfazoxazole. Drugs for chron's disease , ulcerative colitis , rheumatoid arthritis like sulfasalazine. Drugs for leprosy, dermatitis ,certain types of pneumonia like dapson . & Also safe drugs but with caution are- 1.diuretics like -hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide. 2.some migraine medications like sumatriptan. 3.some diabetic drugs like glimepiride. etc.
