As usual wonderful update Dr Mohan. Higher carbohydrate intake increases total mortality while higher fat intake is associated with lower mortality rate and has no association with the risk of myocardial infarction or cardiovascular related mortality according to the Prospective urban rural epidemiological study (PURE STUDY). Higher saturated fat intake appeared to be associated with 21% lower risk of stroke. PURE study is one of the largest studies in the world. It has been conducted in 21 countries across 5 continents in the world.
