Rectal prolapse?? Pt comes in emergency early morning gives history of repeated prolapse previous had constipation for no of years and developed infection at anal region lastly. How to manage ??

Complete rectal prolapse Yes mannually it can reduced with local xylocaine gelly and pudendal block If reduction is successful manage proctoscopy or sos colonoscopy to assess concomitant conditions As you said long standing constipation and that is the cause for prolapse Excessive and frequent straining at defecation developed incontinence and subluxation of anal sphincter which has given way Permanent solution is to avoid constipation and surgical tightening of sphincter

4th degree prolapse rectum Reposition of prolapsed part Avoid constipation Followed by surgery later on after doing all investigation. Surgery depends on age of the patient, general condition of the patient, extent of prolapsed par and the surgeon . Two routes operation per abdomen by opening abdomem rectopexy or laparoscopic Perineal approached. ,

Looks like a Rectal prolapse U can try to reduce it otherwise pain or swelling will persists In an area around circumference of swelling u will find space where it will go in. Give antibiotics,anti inflammatory drugs Also metronidazole or tinidazole,/ laxatives
