Recurrent oral candidiasis
27 year old female presenting with white and yellow plaques and dragging feeling at the back of the throat when swallowing diagnosed as oral candidiasis. History: Streptococcus bacteria present after throat swab. Concurrent with the third course of anti’s - oral candidiasis diagnosed (confirmed by swab) FBE + HIV = NAD, Hb1A1c 5.3 Nilstat x 4 times per day (2/52) - ineffective Daktarin oral gel x 4 times per day (1/52) - ineffective Fungilin Lozenges x 4 per day (1/52) - ineffective Fluconazole 50mg x4 per day + nilstat x 4 per day (5/7) - ineffective Fluconazole 100mg x4 per day (5/7) - ineffective Itraconozole 100mg x 1 per day 2/52 - ineffective What next?

Candiasis with fissured tongue Pt seems to be severely anaemic as tongue is ironed out hence inviting recurrent infection Simultaneously anaemia to be corrected and local fungal treatment clotrimazole+kenacort application

Fissured tounge. Multivitamin suppliments for one Month Vitamin B complex, vitamin C.
Fissured tongue superimposed with candidiasis. Candid mouth paint, Cap Lycomax ,clobestol in orabase.
Geographic tongue commonly has been seen to have a correlation with anaemia. Please get a cbc done to rule it out. Ask for the history of burning sensation. Vitamin deficiency has sometimes been found as an aggravating factor in already present geographic tongue. Start multivitamins for 15 days.
