Skin scars on neck for last one year

Scars on neck for last one year Had an episode of infection or allergy that got cured in 2 months last year; diagnosis unknown. Now patient has scars not responding to Mometasone or clobetasol. Kindly help with diagnosis or line of treatment

You can clearly advise him that these hypopigmented patches will take time to fade away 1) Cap. It mac 200mg OD, 2) Tab. Zocon 200mg once weekly, 2) Keto Soap, 3) Keraglo AD shampoo, apply and lather it on the affected area like neck, twice weekly It should be continued for 4 to 6 weeks. Its a case of P. versicolor caused by M. Furfur.

Pityriasis Versicolor. You may use non-filtered Wood’s lamp ( 320-450 nm wave length) to assist your diagnosis. Make sure the skin is dry and clear from any topical cream/ even sweat ; perform in a dark room ; on the Wood’s lamp for 1 minute before test ; 10-30cm away from skin surface. This is a cheap and fast method.
