Measles Ddx. HFMD VIRAL EXANTHEM PAPULAR URTICARIA.
Sir, Atypical measles is characterized by high fever, pneumonitis (often with pulmonary consolidation and pleural effusion), pedal and hand edema, and even hepatic/cardiac involvement unusual RASH which may be maculopapular, petechial, vesicular or urticarial, papular rash usually starts from extremities (wrist/legs/knee) to trunk (unlike measles) However atypical measles is attributed to killed measles vaccine used in past, its association now a days is controversial With due respect pls correct if any thing found wrong here
Post vaccinsted atypical measles do not fit as classical measles,it has no high fever,severe conjunctial ingestion ,dry cough,typical maculopapular rashes,some times we call it . messles like rashes,
Nutritional deficiencies. Give Multivitamin, Zinc supplementation. Vit A oil. Deworming. Follow up 10 days. Investigation- Blood for Hb TC DC ESR platelet count. TSH, FBG, LFT. Treatment accordingly
Sir, Atypical measles has milder course with similar rash and usually seen in post vaccinated children. The consequences of typical measles shall be rare
Can anybody tell me how to differentiate measles from post vaccinated atypical measles clinically?.
