Syncopes and hypermenorrhea - AML case

Chief Complaint A 41 y/o female was admitted for recurrent syncopes and hypermenorrhea. Vitals BP: 130/85 mmhg, Resp rate: 18 breaths per minute, Pulse: 76 bpm, Temp: 98.1 degree F. Examination Patient looks pale, she is responding to verbal commands. Physical examination normal. Investigations Leukocytosis of 50.2 × 10 9/l, anaemia of 7.45 g/dl platelet count of 18 × 109/l. Blast cells 71% were seen on the PBS. Bone marrow shows AML with maturation. Treatment How the case should be managed?

Needs specialized management under hemato onchologist Generally, induction is achieved by Cytarabin and Daunorubicin combination chemotherapy. Consolidation is achieved by continuing high dose Cytarabin . Stem cell transplantation can be curative.

Bleeding because of low cells count platelet and other factors stop bleeding and treat principal cause AML and blood transfusions
