unilateral hearing loss after extraction of lower wisdom tooth extraction?
Very very rare. Never seen or heard such a case. Any way sudden documented hearing loss to be treated with methyl Prednisone and acyclovir.
Likely nerve injury to aucostic nerve Second possibility of infective neuritis
Or may be its in the same timeline thats why patient is referring this incidence with extraction.Like anyone get viral infection after extraction and get fever, with or without extraction patient is going to get it but as it is after extraction, patient may blame extraction
Never heard of hearing loss after Extraction. May be deep rooted infection. I think ENT can definitely help in such condition
Idiopathic hearing loss is possible .few cases have been reported Hyperbaric oxygen and corticosteroids are line of treatment
Infection spread through lower wisdom teeth.
