Vocal poly
A 50 yr old male with compalints of horseness of voice since 2 mnth. He has h/o vocal nodule 5 years back for which surgery was done . Again indirect laryngoscopy was done and vocal polyp was found. What should be the treatment? Is again surgery should be done or anything else?
Vocal cord nodules may be recurrent. The common cause of nodule is misuse of our voice apparatus. Suggest consult speech therapist for advise on voice modulation. Avoid speaking in loud voice . Voice rest is the best treatment during acute episodes. Other causes like allergy, chronic sinusitis, acid regurgitation in GERD should be excluded.
