Apollo disease is acute haemorrhagic conjunctivitis, first seen in ghana caused by enterovirus and coxasackie virus. It is called so because it first appeared during the launch of Apollo spacecraft

Acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis is known as Apollo disease. Caused by enterovirus 70 and coxsackie virus. Viral condition resolves on its own and no treatment is required. Frequent eyewash with cold water, plenty of fluid intake and rest suffice.
