What is cause for high ESR ?? Patient had h/o recurrent UTI . Her ESR is 80 plz answer me ??
Moderately elevated ESR occurs with inflammation but also with anemia, infection, pregnancy, and with aging. A very high ESR usually has an obvious cause, such as a severe infection, marked by an increase in globulins, polymyalgia rheumatica or temporal arteritis.
RAISED ESR .. CAUSES .. INJECTION.. INFLAMMATION .. ANEMIA .. PREGNANCY ..
ESR shows gravity of disease, sothere maybe overgrowth/malignancy. Ad CBC,USG KUB,IVPXRAY
Esr is to signify any inflammvatory or infective process going inside the body...It signifies the sedimentation rate of erythrocytes is faster comparatively which is a slower process in normal conditions. So it's obvious that uti has high esr since infective inflammatory process is involved in body.
It may be due to infection
Ok ho
