Management
What is the difference between cellulitis and furuncle? How to differentiate between them? And what is the management in a beta lactum allergic patient?
Cellulitis and furuncle both are caused by gram positive organism Linezolid is good choice of medication Furuncle indicate infection of single hair follicle and usually with pus formation Cellulitis indicate infection of skin and soft tissue with out any pus formation
Boils are superficial infections with a thin layer of skin over fluid. Abscesses are generally larger and deeper than boils with redness and painful swelling over an area filled with pus. Cellulitis is an infection within the skin and the area just beneath it; the skin is red and tender.. Both Are caused by gram negative micro organism.
Furuncle is infection of hair root While cellulitis is induration of subcutaneous tissues with signs of inflammation and infection Cellulitis may be primary or secondary to infection of other components Mx broadspectrum antibiotics like amoxyclav625mg 1bd Antiinflamatory
Cellulitis indicated infection of skin and soft tissue without any pus formation. Furuncle indicated infection of single hair follicle and usually with small pus like little blisters. But, both conditions are created septic forms. Needs broad spectrum antiseptic antibiotics for recovery of both infections, if necessary With antiallergetic or antihistamines drugs.
Furuncle indicate infection of single hair follicle usually pus formation and cellulitis infection of skin and soft tissue deep rooted results in pus formation if not Furuncle and cellulitis caused by gram positive orgsnism.managed properly and throughly. Linezolid is good choice of medication.
