What is the treatment of scabies for 4month old child.
Permethrin has been used as a first-line treatment of scabies in patients older than 2 months of age. Repeat after 1 week. Crotamiton is the only scabicide available today which displays not only antiprurtic but also marked antibacterial properties. I usually advised to use locally Crotorax cream during first week wherever lesions persist along Atarax Drop.
please post the picture too . still 5% permethrin will remain the drug of choice . to b applied locally below neck n left overnight n washed in the morning . antibiotics like amoxiclav if u suspect secondary bacterial infection . hicope drops for itching . blanket therapy for all family members . wash all the cloth n dry them in the sunlight . ivermectin to b used in children above 15 kg . baby should wear loose cloths
Permethrin cream – Apply at night, and rinse off in the morning. Use the permethrin cream again in 1 week. Permethrin has been approved for use in infants aged 2 months or older.
Permethrin oint all over body below neck to be repeated after one week Atrax drops orally Garments of whole family should be boiled
Scabigard lotion(Gamabenzine hexacloride+ cetrimide) lotion apply locally night Clop - G oint morning on bumps or burrow Atarex drop Permitek soap In Homoeo Merc sol 200 od alternating with sulph 200 od Psorinum 1m stat Given in mother milk
HH Mite lotion once from toe to chin after bathing and keeping it overnight. Repeat after 7 days Use HH Mite soap in between Wash all towels , bed linens, curtains All family' members to undergo the same treatment
Treatment consists of application of 5% permethrin cream at bedtime to all skin surfaces in infants and from the neck down in older family members; it should be washed off after 8~14 hours. Repeated applications may be needed, as the failure rate is significant.

5 yrs old boy presented with these rash all over body otherwise asymptomatic. similar lesions also started appearing in his younger brother who is 9 months old. parents are asymptomatic. Dx and treatment these rashes are in started appearing since age of 7- 8 months.
