What to consider for a fractured maxillary denture .

A patient aged 61 years reported to our centre with a fractured upper denture . H/o denture since past 5 years , being his second set of dentures . The first one lasted another 7 years so total edentulous span is arround 12 years . Patient had Atwoods order 5 ridges on both maxillary and mandibular area with class 3 palate on maxilla . But fracture through the midline was unexpected especially for patients wearing maxillary and mandibular denture . Fracture of maxillary denture in the Midline mostly occurs when the patient has opposing natural dentition . Patient was explained about all treatment options , implants were excluded as patient was not interested and was happy with removable prosthesis . Metal denture bas was too excluded as the cost was not bearable for the patient . Went in for new impression and a new pair of dentures inserted . Pic of the old vs new hav been illustrated .
