Which drug given for Thyroiditis in Hypothyroidism pt? She already take 100mcg levothyroxine....

The question is puzzling in a way! She is on thyroid hormone supplementation but yet you say she is a known case of thyroiditis. As a matter of fact, thyroiditis can present in three phases/stages 1.thyrotoxic phase 2. hypothyroid phase 3. euthyroid space what ever may be the cause, the first 2 phases are certain. Of many types of thyroiditis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is the most commonest form, others are silent thyroiditis, postpartum thyroiditis, radiation-induced, subacute thyroiditis, suppurative, and drug induced thyroiditis. Good history, clinical examination and investigations help . Apart from thyroid profile, TPO, TRab, ultrasound of the thyroid are needed to ascertain the right diagnosis and thereby we can predict the prognosis and management.
