VERY HELPFUL UPDATE

No such rule. May be due to low quantity given in upper arm , there is more muscle .

Depending upon body body mass

TETANUS ( TT ) INJECTION GIVE . INTRAMUSCULAR HELPFUL.

Deep intramuscular inj advisable. To avoid inj in fatty tissue, preferable site is deltoid muscle

INJECTION TT NEED'S TO GIVE IM .. FOR BETTER RESULTS ..

TT/ DPT injection The preferred injection site in infants and young children is the vastus lateralis muscle of the thigh. The preferred injection site in older children and adults is the deltoid muscle in the upper arm. Inj. TT is to be given intramuscular. In few adults there can be excessive fat in gluteal region. Because of thick fat pad, needle may not reach muscle. Therefore TT injection may be injected in to subcutaneous tissue this making it ineffective. Compared to gluteal region, deltoid has less fat pad. Therefore, it can be safely given in deltoid muscle.
