Yes breastfeeding is recommended in Baby of HIV positive mothers even though there is risk of transmission through breastmilk.they are prescribed nevirapine for 6weeks.The disadvantages of bottle feed are far more dangerous than risk of HIV transmission.

Exclusive breast feeding to the baby even if mother is HIV positive as infection transmitted already but breast milk best support for gut immunity when baby will be on antiviral.

Of course breastfeeding is a best for baby and mother I agree with Dr Ashok Leel

For covid19 mother's I don't recommend for breast feeding for new born babies

Why so Sir?

Yes, recommend breastfeeding for the baby

Follicular ca breast.

At present, data are not sufficient to conclude vertical transmission of COVID-19 through breastfeeding. In infants, the risk of COVID-19 infection is low, the infection is typically mild or asymptomatic, while the consequences of not breastfeeding and separation between mother and child can be significant. At this point it appears that COVID-19 in infants and children represents a much lower threat to survival and health than other infections that breastfeeding is protective against. Breastfeeding is particularly effective against infectious diseases because it strengthens the immune system by directly transferring antibodies from the mother.
