World Hepatitis Day - 28th July 2020

World Hepatitis Day. Today 28th July 2020 is world hepatitis Day . 28th July was picked as world hepatitis day to honour nobel laureate Baruch Samuel Blumberg on his birth anniversary , who had discovered the hepatitis B virus . According to W.H.O, in India hepatitis B affected around 40 million people and hepatitis C around 6 -,12 million in 2017 . Worldwide 290 million people are living with viral hepatitis unaware. Without finding the undiagnosed and linking them to care, millions will continue to suffer and lives will be lost. On World hepatitis day , we doctors on CUROFY call on people from across the world to take action and raise awareness to find the missing millions. OBJECTIVES OF W.H.O 1.Involve as many people as possible to focus together on this issue 2.Raising awareness about various types of hepatitis and their mode of transmission 3.Educate people about prevention, diagnosis and control of hepatitis 4.Spread awareness about hepatitis A and B vaccinations 5.Notify the public about comprehensive care and treatment options available for the different forms of hepatitis 6.Dismissing social stigma, associated with the di8 7.Increase the number of skilled medical professionals in order to enhance quality care THANKS
