MADURA MYCOSIS

50 year male with left forum of foot swelling n multiple sinuses since last 4 years, multiple treatment received. Farmer by occupation. MRI left foot images are as followed, kindly give important sign shown in MRI as well as mention the diagnosis n further treatment plan. regards.

This is the typical sign of dot-in-sign found in case of madura foot. This disease ic one of the 17 tropical contagious disease declared by Who. It is chronic granulomatous disease of skin soft tissue and even bone, caused by actinomycotic myocetoma oractino myocetoma. As madura foot is vulnerable to trauma leading to secondary infection abscess formation and drainage leading to sinus and discharging the highly contagious material. Myocetoma may effect face neck hands and even lung. Early diagnosis is important for early treatment.
