Tibial fracture

15 year old boy fell down during running... Tibial fracture. What is the management ? Surgery required or not? Medication ? Advise ?

Conservative treatment will give acceptable results Position is okay Above knee pop cast with 10 degree knee flexion for 6 weeks Get correct rotatory alignment while applying pop Give adequate padding Emphasize pop care: lower limb elevation: active Movements :non weight bearing Take a check xray It will unite fast in this age group:also because metaphyseal area is involved

SPIRAL # LOWER END OF TIBIA Requires open reduction and fixation Either platting or nailing Rest in cast for 6weeks followed by physiotherapy

Lower tibial fracture, immobilse lower limb with pop cast, for 1 & 1/2 months. Calcium supplement, analgesic if required.
