CRANIOPHARYNGIOMA CAUSING OBSTRUCTIVE HYDROCEPHALUS.

12mnth old male child admitted with vomitting since 3mnths and drowsiness,fever since 2days, irritability since today morning.O/e - Pupils - B/l 4mm NRTL,GCS - E3M5V4,Moving all four limbs,tense fontanelle.DIAGNOSIS AND PLEASE SUGGEST FURTHER MANAGEMENT PLAN AND PROGNOSIS

It's a cystic cranio... Prior vp shunt is suggested as the cranio cyst is notoriously recurrent.. surgical excision of the wall is never complete

Craniopharyng ioma is rare type non cancerous (Benign) brain tumor, begin near the brain pituitary gland, which secrets hormone that controls many body functions. In Craniopharygioma , intracranial hypertension is almost cause by obstructive hydrocephalus which results when tumor grow upward into third ventricle, interfering with passage of CSF through the third ventricle to the aqueduct. Treatment consists of subfrontal or transsphenoidal excision. Additional radiotherapy also used if total removal not possible.

V p shunt is treatment of choice Ref to neurosurgeon
Lissencephaly, no treatment.
Icsol with hydrocephalus
Please involve neurosurgeon and get his opinion early obstructive hydrocephalus with gcs of 12 the prognosis is fairly good. Until then treat symtpomatically and conservatively.
