Clinical provisional diagnosis : Telogen effluvium due to iron deficiency anemia, zinc deficiency and malnutrition Telogen effluvium is a form of nonscarring alopecia characterized by diffuse hair shedding, often with an acute onset. (To rule out thyroid disorder, diabetes mellitus and SLE). Hair loss may be due to important nutritional deficiency such as iron and zinc elements and this is very important problem to think of especially in developing countries. In following study the chronic type of hair loss that was observed due to zinc deficiency that was seen in children despite absence of characteristic signs of zinc deficiency. Hair Loss in Children: Common and Uncommon Causes; Clinical and Epidemiological Study in Jordan Khitam Al-Refu Int J Trichology. 2013 Oct-Dec; 5(4): 185–189. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3999647/
Personally to me it doesnot seem like tinea capitis ..seborrheic dermatitis to me.....I think there can b other strong possibilities such as alopecia due to autoimmune causes....hypothyroidism.....or most likely due to nutritional deficiency also such as biotin zinc essential amino acids n phospholipids deficiency.....that need to b worked upon.......
?Alopecia universalis ? Trachotelomania See the hormonal status HEMATOLOGICAL INVESTIGATIONS Endocrinologist opinion needed R/o autoimmune disorder if any Seborrheic dermatitis can be suspected if itching over head or eyelashes
Alopecia areata , Give oral steroid mini pulse 10mg two consecutive days weekly and topical minoxidil 2% localy once a day . Try it for 6 months .
Non inflammatory seborrheic dermatitis Need Skin Biopsy nd Management as per dd better management under dermatology
