4 yr child history of recurrent tonsillitis.......managed conservatively with oral rx 5....6 times at a gap of avg almost 2 to 3 months in last 3 yrs.....what should b best approach now.......hb 11.6 tlc 14ooo.....

These are hypertrophied tonsils And no use of giving frequent conservative treatment Only radical remedy is tonsillectomy

Culture and sensitivity from the tonsils during acute attack .,and continuing SUITABLE antibiotics for 10 days for each attack . I have found Oral penicillin 400 mg od for 6 months, as a good preventive . If there are other problems like adenoids, recurrent middle ear infection, ch nasl block, TONSILLECTOMY may be solution
