Parotid abscess in children

5yr baby having swelling over right preauricular area.USG shows parotid abscess. Is oral antibiotic enough or I and D should be done ?

Parotid abscess is a rare complication of parotitis , it is due to infection of intra parotid or para parotid lymp hnodes with multi bacterial infection leading suppurative abscess. Inj venous or I'm broad spectrum antibiotic Surgical intervention incision and drainage but not allowing to develop fistula.

Indeed inflammatory abscess In parotid area Yes it will need incision and drainage

Abscess Under local anaesthesia.. should be incision advise č proper dressing
