ASSOCIATION BETWEEN AF ON OAC WITH LOWER GI BLEEDING & COLO RECTAL CA.

Dear my friends and fellow Colleagues, Here is an update on association between OAC, Oral Anti Coagulant in patients suffering from AF, Atrial Fibrillation and Colo Rectal Carcinoma. Bleeding from Lower GI tract in Atrial Fibrillation patient on Oral Anticoagulant (OAC) should not be seen just as adverse effect of OAC, but should be looked upon as a red flag for Colorectal Cancer. Patients with such bleeding have 15-25% increased 1 year risk for diagnosis of Lower GI malignancy compared to person without bleeding. An observational study. European Heart Journal, February, 2020. Regards and thanks, Dr Sepuri Krishna Mohan.
