A 51-year-old male, contact lens wear in the left eye presented with left eye redness, pain, light sensitivity, and tearing for 1 week. Foud to have acute corneal edema. His pain was rated as 7 out of 10 and described as a constant surface irritation and a scratchy sensation. He described constant tearing and blurry vision which did not change throughout the day. The patient took out his contact lens when the symptoms began. Please give your valuable opinion

acanthamoebakeratitis take the scraping with sterlisd blade under topical anesthesia stain with Gimsa Wright or periodic acid -Schiff stain pain is the main symptom treatment polyhexamethylene biguanide PHMB and Variczole and oral ketaconazole follow the patient daily until clinical response is seen
. Acute corneal edema : The dx of treating ophthalmologist is acute corneal edema for which following rx is advised: Rx : . Steroid with antibiotics e/drops frequently. . Timolol e/drops . . cyclopentolate e/drops . . Oral paracetamol. .Oral dexamethasone. . 5% nacl e/drops sos. . Dark glasses.
Acanthamoebic keratitis topical preparations of Brolene, Neomycin-Polymyxin B-Gramicidin, polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), chlorhexadine, and voriconazole eye drops Patients should be followed very closely mostly daily Cases of corneal perforation may need to be managed with surgical interventions.

this two and half yrs old kid came to me one month back with complaint of redness,pain,loss of vision, excessive watering.A diagnosis of fungal corneal ulcer with hypopyon was made and treated accordingly,pt responded very well ulcer healed but as on today pt have macular grade central opacity ..... kindly give your opinions on further course of treatment to be followed...
