accidental double intake of metXl am 25/5

A 56 yr old patient who is hypertensive n under medication since 6 yrs, under control on medication He accidentally took bp tablet (met XL am 25/5) Composition: Metoprolol 25mg+Amlodipine 5 mg He took tablet two times with in 6 hrs gap Bp recording at present:110/70 mmHg No other complaints Any precautions should be taken? Please suggest

Monitered heart rate and blood pressure whole day and suggested to drink buttermilk by adding salt on that day patient is absolutely healthy and blood pressure under control now

Increased gap, monitor vital, routine blood investigaton, continued medicine under guidance of physcian

patient is taking optimum antihypertensive drugs. Just increase the gap between the doses to 12 hrs. Regular Monitoring of BP is mandatory.

Please monitor pulse, because metoprolol may alter cardiac function ,if any cardiac event in past.I think single dose will not make any difference. On examination she is stable.

Nothing to worry. Just keep a watch on blood pressure

Dont worry be remain happy.. Drugs wont alter body functions.. Body has great compensatory mechanisms.. Just get relaxed..

Nothing to worry . BP monitoring for two days

If patient is comfortable nothing needs to be done . Monitor BP periodically next 12 hours . Counsel the patient and the attendant.
