A case of Cysticercosis mycosis

A young lady aged 34 yrs presented with the following symptoms Recurrent attacks of pain, redness and erythematos swelling medial aspect of left thigh In the vicinity of long saphenous vein in a linear fashion associated with fever for 02 hrs She had consulted various consultants but no relief O/E no lesion lt thigh Lt inguinal lymph node was palpable Provisional & Diff diagnosis Recurrent filarial lymphangitis Recurrent Thrombophlebitis Myocysticercosis Investigations CRP 55.5 Blood slide for microfilaria negative Filarial antigen negative EITB FOR Myocysticercosis Positive Color doppler of lower limb and usg screening Of lt thigh suggestive of Myocysticercosis MRI lt thigh suggestive of myocysticercosis Treatment Patient has ben advised conservative treatment Albendazol 400mg daily for 06 weeks Wysolone 05 mg 02 tab tds for 10 days foll0wed by 01 tab tds for 10 days, followed by 01 tab twice daily for 05 days followed by 01 tab daily for 05 days and stop Other supportive treatment Plan Surgery on failure of medical treatment
