Based on your history and clinical observation. I feel its not a ulcer, the mucosa appears to be brownish black ,pigmented ,wavy line appearance, burning sensation with surrounding mucosa normal. this is Lichen Planus pigmentosus of oral mucosa Advice biopsy for HPE Usually topical corticosteroids or oral steriods with antioxidant supplementation would help reducing.

Oral Ulcer.( Canker sore). A small, shallow sore inside the mouth or at the base of the gums. Unlike a cold sore, a canker sore doesn't occur on the lips and isn't contagious. Possible triggers of aphthous ulcers include: Emotional stress. Minor injury to the inside of the mouth, for example from cuts, burns or bites while eating, dental work, hard brushing or ill-fitting dentures.
