Decreased platelets in pregnancy

23 yr primigravida.....come for routine check up....at 38 weeks..... PLATELET C. <65K.... No systemic condition or other abn. found at time of examn..But she didn't go through Proper antenatal check ups....What is best to advise the pt or to do?

Hematological workup, to rule out Idiopathic thrombocytopenic Purpura. Thrombocytopenia of hematological disorders, cirrhosis of liver, dengue fever . Observation, , and platelet transfusion if PLT count goes down below 30000, or there is bleeding tendency.

You can watch till 50000 level but make sure pt inr and aptt r normal...keep 1 unit whole blood ready or donor ready when she goes in labour for sos use....and use oxytocics after delevery....

Adv BT/CT/PT INR No active intervention, wait till she goes in labour. Daily platelets count to be sent. Talk with the nearest blood bank, keep platelets on hold for emergency.

Wait and watch . Keep daily monitoring and constant evaluation. Needs further investigation and evaluation to conclude and line of treatment.

It might be thrombocytopeniaof pregnancy.Observation and manual platelet count required.At the same time rule out Dengue fever.

Need's.. W/O .. vital parameters & platelets.. If..platelets counts drops down.. Need's.. platelets infection..
