Multiple observational studies suggest that breastfeeding does not appear to play an important role in the mother-to-infant transmission of HCV. One reason for transmission via breast milk never or rarely occurs is that gastric acid rapidly inactivates HCV. Women with HCV infection should be advised that unless there are other contraindications, they should consider breastfeeding their infants

Its not a contraindication for breast feeding . It should b pursued at any cost.
