For covid, the mainstay is steroids. There will definitely denovo DM . Try to use methylprednisolone over dexamethasone. Depending on sugar levels, you may consider insulin or oha OHA TO BE AVOIDED ARE : 1.SULFONYLUREAS 2.SGLT 2 INHIBITOR 3.PIOGLITAZONE. SAFELY USE 1.METFORMIN 2.DPP4 ANALOGUES 3.INSULIN

Any OHA can be given for steroid induced diabetes ranging from sulfonylureas to DPP 4 and so on. First and foremost, would be to stop steroids and all things will follow later.
