68-year-old male presenting to the clinic as a new patient with 2 weeks of painful rash on the back of the right leg. Started after he stubbed his right great toe. Went to the ED, diagnosed with shingles & given valacyclovir without improvement. Went back to the ED after 2 weeks- negative venous/arterial ultrasounds. Blood & wound cultures pending. Dimer 1.3 but other labs essentially unremarkable. Suggestions?
