Newborn with this type of wound

6 days old term / female / AGA baby 2.6 kgs . Had a blistering wound on right elbow . Which eventually burst and now on day 6 its shows a scab and minimal pus discharge . Baby was started on T bact & silverex cream alternative days bd from day 1 of life . No fever or dullness. Cbp crp normal. Should we continue same rx .plz suggest

Don't worry, Baby will recovered soon from bursted bullous Impetigo. Continue same tt and may add Placentrex oint also for faster healing of wound. If possible may do C/S test of pus or discharge swab sample.

Look for signs of neonatal sepsis . Ask if the baby is accepting feeds well n maintaining good urine output . Cbc crp blood c/s swab c/s.mostly staph n strep are the culprits. Neonatal purpura fulminans should b ruled out too

Bullous Impetigo. Continue T bact oint locally. Syp ofloxacin as per B w . Keep the area clean and covered with sterile gauge.
