Onychomycosis Best drug in a case of DM with HTN? I read its terbinafine and fluconazole with least interactions. Kindly give your valuable inputs

(1)..Onchomycosis.. Onychomycosis is caused by 3 main classes of fungi: dermatophytes, yeasts, and nondermatophyte molds. Dermatophytes are by far the most common cause of onychomycosis. Two major pathogens are responsible for approximately 90% of all onychomycosis cases. (2). Yes its true. Terbinafine .500.is a accepted anti fungal xrug. Lucinazole is also good for oral application. Both the xfugs do not interfear in Rx of DM.& HTN...and are safe

Terbinafine and Fluconazole both are safe but Fluconazole is not much effective. Terbinafine dose in adult is 250 mg BD for 4-6 weeks with strict control of DM. Itraconazole is effective but contraindicated.

Yes onicomycosis You are right flucanazole and terbinafine are choice in diabetic and hypertensive pts Both orally as well as locally

Yes oncomycosis Both drug are choice of drug in DM with HTN So you can give

@terbinafine for long time can cause liver damage so use with taking precautions like advicing liver function test ; CBC ; cap Itraconazol is better than terbinafine in diabetic pt; topical ciclopirox 8 % paint is with no side effects & best tt for diabetic pt

Onychomycosis Oral Itraconazole is contraindicated in LV dysfunction . Terbinafine and flucanazole are safe in patients with DM and HTN

Apparently Fluconazole and Terbinafine are safe
