Parasymphsis fracture

history dates back to yesterday when patient met with and accident hit up the right side of the face with pipe. patient have pain ,swelling and unable to open mouth and not able to eat food . Chief Complaints patient met with and accident hit uo by the pipe on the right side of face. there is pain and swelling on the right side of the face and not able to open the mouth properly and unable to eat food? History there is no relevant past medical history Vitals vitals are normal Physical Examination on palpation there is tenderness on the right side of face near parasymphsis region. intraoraly segment at the parasymphsis region of mandible moves buccolingualy Investigations for investigation Opg is done Diagnosis parasymphsis fracture of mandible Management what should be the management? please elaborate?

Miniplate at the bottom and 2 cm above it can be placed on the line of fracture. Along with it interfixation wiring should be done to restrict movement between maxilla and mandible.

This case can be treated on clinic or In OT. At clinic you can go for arch bar fixation for 6 weeks after occlusion balance relation is achieved. At OT mini plates at the bottom of the base of mandible after stability is achieved. Antibiotics, painkiller and followup is required. Regards

Please check the status of contralateral TMJ which can be fractured due to indirect impact of the trauma. Trt--- reduction of the # immobilisation for 6 weeks, if TMJ is affected ,early mobilization is advisable.
