Cyanide poisoning in cattle

"Successful treatment of sorghum(cyanide) poisoning in cattle" courtesy Prof Venkatesh Kumar sir & LAVATN History:A first calving cow calved 18 days back was reported not able to get up and convulsion sighns reported clinical examination:temp 37.8C rectal spincture relaxed (but dung was voided and urinated on soil ) hypocalemia ruled out animal having severe dyspnea , twitching of muzzle(hypoxia sighns) noticed on examining mucous membrane brick red in colour ,blood was drawn it also brick red/bright cherry red in colour (animal was lying down near sorghum field very young plant)diagnosis was narrow down to sorghum/cyanide poisoning treatment fluid theraphy with " hypo" animal recovered immediately and stand .
