PRIMUM ASD
Priumum ASD should get operated between 2-5 years.Isolated,haemodynamic stable Priumum ASD do not require immediate surgery, But if child develops CCF,FTT,or develops Mitral insufficiency or mitral cleft leaflet , Surgery should be done urgently. Surfer also done in < 10 yrs.age to present arrhythmia.
IT NEEDS TO BE CLOSED BY 2-3 YEARS OF AGE. PRIMUM ASD NORMALLY ARE ASYMPTOMATIC SO NO RECOMMENDATION HAS BEEN GIVEN SEPARATELY FOR SYMPTOMATIC CONDITIONS. 47yr/ M, Agrarian worker, Ex Smoker presented with Cough, SOB, Low grade Fever, Swelling of Face, Legs and Abdomen for almost two months. He was screened by Echocardiogram outside,His EF 26%.Global hypokinesia, PAH+. His Urine and Stool RE & ME is within Normal range. Stool OBT is Negative. His CBC, Sr Creatinine, Echo, USG, ECG and CXR enclosed.
