Dr. Rumneek Sodhi

Dr. Sodhi, is the Consultant In-charge of the “Medanta diabetic foot care centre”, at one of the most premier health institutes in India, Medanta-the Medicity, Gurgaon, Haryana. Dr. Sodhi holds a Masters of Science in Podiatry Medicine from the Queen Margaret University, Scotland, United Kingdom and an International Visiting Scholar’s program in Podiatry medicine from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatry Medicine, under the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Sciences, North Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. She has to her credit setting up the first ever state of the art “Diabetic Foot Care Centre” in the whole of North India and ever since then added to that number. Her “Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Research “by the Cranfield University, London, UK has made her the head of the “Research cel” division at her institute. Dr Sodhi is also the head of the one of its kind fully automated “Orthtotic (Insoles) lab” in the whole of India, which engages latest technology to offload the troubled diabetic and some of the complicated non diabetic feet as well. Dr Sodhi is the convener of the Haryana Medical council accredited “Medanta Comprehensive vascular intervention course” that runs annually with CME credit. She is also an imminent teaching faculty at the annual “Diabetic Foot society of India meeting”, “Wound Care con” and the “National Wound Care Nursing education program” apart from the numerous training programs that she conducts throughout the year at various diabetic foot conferences and symposiums. She has been a key opinion leader on many national & international diabetic foot management protocols and wound care therapies. She is also the invited faculty for enumerable Indian & Global Diabetic foot conferences. Dr Sodhi is the only operator in India who runs the SPY Transcutaneous pulseoximetry device which is a breakthrough technology for perfusion analysis and wound healing prognosis, before & after vascular intervention. She is an active contributor for many published diabetic foot/vascular & endovascular journals and has been engaged more than 35 global trails focusing at wound care protocols, ultrasound assisted wound debridement systems, negative wound pressure therapy, vascular devices, anti-thrombotic therapy and management of critical limb ischemia/diabetic foot ulceration with stem cell therapy. Dr Sodhi has special interest in Wound healing, amputation prevention, infectious diseases, biomechanics, epidemiology of diabetes complications, clinical inflammatory markers, non-invasive imaging/testing systems (Duplex ultrasound/ Transcutaneous pulse oximetery), bioinformatics/personal health networks and interdisciplinary management.
